Donations, including food, toiletries and cleaning supplies, are being collected to assist veterans with their move. To support homeless veterans in Montgomery County, the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless (MCCH) provides safe, stable and affordable housing to an average of 75 homeless veterans each year. At the event, guests will be invited to fill out a card & provide a 4圆 photograph for a Book of Tribute, honoring friends & family members who serve. The Cadet Color Guard of Gaithersburg High School will present the colors, award-winning artist Andrea Rene’ Williams will perform the national anthem, & “Taps” will be played by Ismail Akdere, Gaithersburg High School Band Trumpet Section Leader. The patriotic ceremony will include words & music to commemorate the occasion, followed by a solemn wreath-laying ceremony. The Memorial Day Ceremony will take place in front of Town Hall upon parade completion. The Danvers Veterans Council is honored to designate him as Grand Marshal. He is the recipient of the Korea Defense Service Medal which he earned for his service in Vietnam. Greenlaw, a US Army veteran, was selected to be the 2022 Grand Marshal. For those veterans unable to march, a trolley will be available at Town Hall and is handicapped accessible. All Danvers veterans are invited to march in the parade in their civilian capacity.
